First off Merry Christmas everyone. It’s been a wonderful Christmas journey and believe it or not we actually got a white Christmas. I believe it was only few places in Finland that actually got snow this year. That is enough snow to say it was a white Christmas, and my home region was one of these places. Nothing better than playing in the snow with Maxwell.
But Christmas is of course much more than just fun in the snow. It’s about family time, good food, drinks and Christmas songs.
This year we got entire family together to celebrate the occasion and it was great. We’re closing in on the boxing day and that means it’s time to get back to work. Speaking of work, I had the first night this year without any emails last night. Superb! Some could argue it’s a bad thing, but I think not. The best present was a chance to spend the Christmas together with the family but there were few nice gifts that I will go back to Malaysia with. I mentioned the time pieces, but there was also some vintage artisan products from Florence, Italy I got this year. Items purchased decades ago but which still “shine” like they were bought yesterday. Just like with any vintage good, there are few things I need to look into in terms of fixing these goods, but more of that later. Back to denim.
The jeans went into washing machine and came out even better. I love the way a good wash adjusts the denim and it shrinks away some of the stretching that just happens with most of the jeans. The Lot 3010 is not an exception and now we’re one step closer to a perfect fit. At least for me.
The jeans have also been through quite a bit, long journeys from one side of the world to the other, trips to the forest with Maxwell to pick a Christmas tree…
…and night spent in the sub-zero climate just to freshen the jeans that perhaps got half a glass of beer spilled on them on the Christmas eve. Nothing major, it’s just beer. Just that I would rather do without the smell of beer on my pants. But some snow and cool air do wonders to freshen the garment.
So the jeans are getting better by the day and I can’t wait to see what the next few months bring along. Below just few more pics of the jeans’ fit in their current state.
A week from here, we’ll be traveling back to Malaysia and that means a lot more hours spent in the plane and on the airports. Then it’s 2012 already. Another year a lot of new challenges. But no matter what, I know I have the right jeans to take on any of those challenges. Stay tuned for more.
