It was this time last year when we kick-started Project Wear and Tear. If my memory serves me right, we started the project with a Lion Dance. Not bad? It’s been one of the fastest years in my life, I guess I’m getting old…
Since it’s been a year and although most of us might have forgotten, it all started as a competition. A friendly denim contest as the name indicates, a Wear and Tear contest. Since we started the rhumba on the 2nd of February 2011, We’re gonna start the voting for the winner on the February 2nd 2012. The winner is not only getting a pair of jeans courtesy of Nordic Denim House but also a denim jacket from Naked & Famous.
So who will you be voting for? The project has had a lot of great characters, some posting updates more often than others, it’s been all in the name of fun, but since some of the contestants “stayed true” or should I say active accomplishing quite the denim-wear, I thought it would be best if the voting would be between the top three. Now this is the top three in my opinion and if the public generale thinks another pair of jeans should be in the voting game, do let me know. 
So without further due, the top three (not in any particular order).
Ika’s Pankeki – Naked & Famous x Momotaro Jeans
Definitely one of the most awesome denim projects out there.
Tuomas’ Bruce – Momotaro Jeans Copper Label G003-MB
Definitely the most torn pair of jeans. These jeans have been frozen, worn and torn. It’s like a walk through hell and back (in denim terms). Good look.
Rob’s Mr. Freedamn – Momotaro Jeans – Vintage Label 0901
Rob’s project ended at 9 months, not full year but the results are rather impressive. I mean I have worn 0901 Vintage Label Momotaro Jeans in the past and after 9 months my jeans did not look like this. Good look Rob, it would be great to see how the jeans look like at 1 year.
On your right side, just above the logos/supporters you can see a little poll. So ladies and gentlemen, I leave it up to you to decide who’s the king or queen of Project Wear and Tear 2011.

so for girl- Ika gets my vote;and for boy: Tuomas(anyone put its jeans through a renovation works and gets paintwork,and as @Taavi puts it- put through hell,and ..back-should deserve).

On that note, I feel everyone in the project is a winner but unfortunately can’t ship jeans to everyone.

here i say it again; thank you everyone, yeah every single one of you (fellow friends contestants, viewers, supporters and followers). i’ve been enjoying this project much and 2011 is the year that i fully committed to one pair! (i abandoned my skirts, my jeggings etc etc… damn woman!) so yeah i felt like mission accomplished
i saw Rob’s pair hanging on his wall 3 weeks ago at Okiya, his pair are dope as fuck i can tell…. Tuomas’ pair are very badass vintage looking, this dude is crazy! he has done some hardcore things with his jeans…. no wonder if either of these dudes will take the crown :p
Glad to hear you enjoyed the project Ika. I can imagine Rob’s jeans are as impressive as the pics indicate. Who knows, who will claim the title.
